Segment[]

Music Scope[]

They have two sections of Music Scope: "Newcomer-to-Watch," and when a record hits #1, "Hero Interview."[3]

On the Lookout Scope[]

There is a segment called "On the Lookout Scope" in which they invite artists to who have recently garnered high interest. Kanae, Kyoko, and Chiori are invited under this segment.

Featured Guests[]

Plot[]

Pre-Introduction arc[]

When Kyoko was still living with Sho, he was featured on Japonet Scope. Kyoko recorded his every appearance and watched the tape repeatedly.[4] Sho Fuwa was featured as a newcomer and has done the Hero Interview several times.[5]

Curara CM arc[]

Kanae was featured after the Curara commercial and her subsequent casting in a drama.[6]

Note: these events occurred chronologically during the Curara CM arc, but were only mentioned in the Suddenly, a Love Story arc.

Suddenly, a Love Story arc[]

Though Kyoko was neglected at the time of Kanae's invitation to the show, she was invited after appearing in Sho's Prisoner PV. After learning that Kyoko was same short-haired girl in Curara commercial, as well as the person who plays Mio in Dark Moon, the producer wanted to have her in the show no matter what.

Kyoko was certainly unhappy with the producer's complete attitude change, but took this as a stepping stone to fame and also to promote the upcoming Dark Moon series. Kyoko was invited the same day as the visual kei band Vie Ghoul. [7]

Vie Ghoul's song had just hit #1 and they are invited to TBM the same day as Kyoko in order to do their first Hero Interview.[8]

Sho also happened to be at TBM the day Kyoko and Vie Ghoul were there, though appearing for a different show, Music Heaven[9]. It was during this overlap of three talents that Kyoko became aware that Vie Ghoul was trying to copy Sho and confronted him over it.[10] The confrontation caused Sho to lose his temper and he struck Kyoko, leaving a mark on her face.[11] His guilt[12] over this would lead him to appear at the Dark Moon set the next day to wait and see Kyoko when she showed up—thus outing the fact that they know each other.[13]

Natsu's arc[]

Chiori Amamiya learned while getting ready for her interview on Japonet Scope that they had already featured Kyoko the previous year. It adds to her growing resentment since first working Kyoko on the Box "R" drama. While on her way to the Japonet Scope set, she sees Kyoko walking down the hall carrying drinks and realizes that Kyoko, who she knew had to be at her other job then, has a regular job at the TV station. Chiori shoves her down the stairs, but Kyoko makes meaningful eye contact with her as she falls. Caught, Chiori has to do her interview knowing that she's about to be in trouble, one way or another.[14]
