Voice Acting as Erika Koenji[]

The Skip Beat! dub team released behind the scenes interviews for their Kickstarter backers. One interview question is being featured until the video is released to the public.

What about Erika fit the bill for what you enjoy in voice acting the most?

  • "So for Erika, um, I really fell in love with her character. Again, she's one of those characters I was talking about who just goes after her dreams. And she's pretty ruthless; I don't feel I am that competitive. I'm not, uh... She feels like it has to be her; it can't be anybody else, and she actively goes to stop other people's careers. Which is horrible, but I love it about her. It's like a chance to play something bigger than life. Um, and uh... I feel like, um, just based on feedback that I get: I get the mean girl trope a lot. And I love playing them so much. So when I, when I, was going back and watching the dub again—the subtitled version again—Erika struck me as a character that was just a little bit out of the norm for me. Um, but I was really eager to play her."[1]
