PlotEdit

Kyoko tries to figure out what's going on with Ren, but it's hard to focus after she walks in on him in the shower.

Chapter SummaryEdit

Back in their hotel room, Setsu notices that the shopping bags contain a number of shirts, the total of which cost more than the pants Cain exchanged. When she protests, Cain doesn't go puppydog, but counters with the fact that she's a fashionista and will wear all of them quickly anyway.

Cain goes to take a shower leaving Kyoko angry with herself for forgetting that Ren was underneath all the cute pouting Cain did, so of course it was a deception.

Her thoughts drift to the aftermath of the fight, when he thanked her for stopping him before he destroyed that guy's face. She acknowledged Cain's thanks as Setsu. However, Kyoko has doubts, because the look on his face was so stunned. Then once it was over, he acted as though it were all nothing. It made Kyoko feel foolish for having been alarmed, even though she was right to be. Kyoko wonders if, as Cain, would he easily behave in a way that makes Setsu uneasy?

In the bathroom, Ren has the shower running to make it sound like he's started, but instead he's finally letting himself deal with what happened on the street. He remembers the fight and the way he felt. Taking off Cain's gloves, Ren looks at his watch, a broken one he wears whenever he's not in costume. Clutching the watch, Ren drops to his knees and closes his eyes.

Outside the bathroom, holding a ladle, Kyoko getting increasingly concerned at how long Ren's been in there. Deciding he might've fallen asleep, Kyoko rushes in to save him. There is a beat as Ren and Kyoko make eye contact and process the fact that she just walked in on him naked and in the shower. With a grin, Cain chuffs and asks Setsu what's going on. "You wanna join me?" [1]

Setsu smiles. "Sure. If I weren't cooking, I'd love to!"[2] She retreats with a confident smile, giving a brief explanation that she thought he'd fallen asleep, and telling him to take his time. Once she's gone, Ren turns off the shower.

Outside the bathroom, Kyoko takes a moment . . . and then falls to the floor, rolling around in embarrassment that she'd acted uninhibited when she's really a decent Japanese girl. She didn't look at him! She only saw his face! Then she's wretched because she lost the opportunity to get a look at his bare skin and have realistic details to perfect her Ren doll.

Cain comes out in a towel; Setsu's cleaning up. Cain, however, passes by the dinner she made and crawls straight into bed. Setsu pressures him, advising to at least eat the light soup to deliberately took care to make because she knows his excuses. She orders him to finish it before she gets out of the bath. Cain gets out of bed.

Now Kyoko is writhing in embarrassment in the bathroom, hoping that he couldn't detect that she'd had outrageous thoughts. She'd fallen on her dealing-with-drunk-customers technique to get through the incident earlier, but now she can't even eat with him. Kyoko notices Cain's clothes in a pile and wonders how Cain expects Setsu to take care of them. That's when she notices the watch Ren always wears, but never when he's in costume. She's trying to figure out why he would have it with him, and observes that it's stopped.
